An overconfident female head-of-a-household struggles to regain a higher status for herself, and for her family of oddballs, after losing her job and moving from the rich side to the poor side of an Arkansas small town. To save money, they’ve moved into their inherited Victorian fixer upper, the historic Harper House.

Suddenly orphaned by the loss of her single father, 11-year-old Harper is sent to live with her alcoholic aunt on a dilapidated family farm. Just as she begins to settle into her tumultuous new home, her life is torn asunder once again when her wealthy socialite mother who abandoned her at birth reappears to claim Harper for her own, selfish reasons.

Accused of infidelity by her husband, a woman is given a humiliating punishment at the hands of the village elders.

Kalki is an ardent follower of pigeon racing, which ultimately leads him to working for a mob boss who shares the same passion. Howevere, his dream of becoming a champion in the spot and his quest to win over the girl he loves wil eventually leave Kalki at a crossroads, and what happens next forms the crux of the story.
